ESNS 2016 Silent Auction

Our families are hard at work, preparing for this year's Silent Auction event to benefit East Side Nursery School on March 19th starting at 6pm. It looks to be another fantastic evening of food, music, and great deals on Auction items of course with a roaring 20s theme!

There will be a 50/50 cash raffle, a wine pull, live auction of select items and silent auction for family friendly activities, cultural destinations, and grown-up getaways.

There are many benefits to our Annual Silent Auction, but two of these stand out and provide meaning for our work:

  1. We — the parents — get to know one another a little better. The time we spend together on committees can forge friendships in a time in our lives where much of our energy is put into our small children. These relationships are priceless, and the time together on committees, we hope, can and will be swell!
  2. We raise money for our fabulous school, which in turn supports our children’s education and our phenomenal teachers who teach, nurture, and care for our children every day.

We have a huge range of items for sale, so if you — a member of the public — would like a ticket, be sure to check the Facebook event for ticket information! We hope you are as excited for a trip back to the Roaring 20's as we are! Remember, getting dolled up for the event is optional!

Where is Winter?

It’s February! And even though we sang a song about winter for the whole month of January we are still waiting for Winter! But... I have to say we have enjoyed being able to go outside most days.

This month we are experimenting with Negative space in art; changing the shape of the paper to see if it changes how we feel about drawing. Then changing the space inside the paper (with a cutout) and seeing how that makes us feel. Towards the end of the month we will begin exploring lines and color in Art. After vacation we will be having a take home bear/dog rotating through the classroom.

It may seem like a long way away but we are already seeing Auction Items coming in. And we are feeling the buzz in the community as everyone starts to get involved. If you haven’t yet, it is time — read our updates. And every year we find the food AMAZING and that it is a fun night out for everyone.
